After a short stop at the Gothic fortified church of St. Michael, past Spitz with its late Gothic church and the ruins of Aggstein Castle, we arrive in the picturesque village of Emmersdorf, where you can already enjoy a breathtaking view of the absolute highlight of every Wachau tour: Melk Abbey! The Benedictine abbey is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is considered the largest monastery complex of the Austrian Baroque period.
